Waterbender

Holy cow, I'm posting art! This was made for the same project as my The Scholar piece, Avatar World (a tabletop RPG based off the Apocalypse World engine - think Dungeons & Dragons but different rules, and built to emulate the action of Avatar The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra, and other Wuxia media). This is the Waterbender, a magic-user who can psychically manipulate water in various forms through martial arts-inspired motions (in their case, Tai Chi). If you're already familiar with it: I know the puppeteer-hand thing is just for blood usually, but I usually like it for waterbending in general.

His outfit is extremely loosely inspired by the actual Water Tribe outfits, but is intentionally NOT the same - as a derivitive work, I'm really trying to avoid literally plagiarizing whenever I can.

As a piece of art, I'm happy with this. I drew up the sketch while just filling sketchbook pages for my art class and decided it was good enough to digitize and refine. I'm happy with most of the lines, despite several curves (especially on the water) that honestly aren't all that smooth. But in general I like how it came out.

It's got 4+trans main colors. Took maybe an hour for the original sketch and probably around 4 for makin' it all pretty and digital.
